‘The Kalimantan Kenyah: A Study of Tribal Conversion’ focues on the thirty-fve year period of time, between 1930-1965, during which the Kenyah Tribal group numbering about 35,000 in Indonesian Kalimantan were converted to Christianity. This study id an attempt to analyze that conversion process in terms of the culture’s own dynamic.How can a culture receive the Christian gospel and still remain culturally its own? How does Christianity replace the animistic core of supernaturalism within such a culture?
